some of my favorite health books

I always laugh at the books I have in my library as they're so predictable. I'm always reading about health, food, the way the body works, mindfulness or natural beauty. It's basically all I read and I just can't soak up enough. I went through a phase where I wanted to read all of my Dad's old books from when he was growing up- he took notes, underlined and drew little pictures in the margins. I loved seeing what stuck out to him. But, there is only so much Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald I can read before I get drawn back to my real passion of self exploration and health. I've read a looooot of "self-helpish" books but these are some that have stuck with me the most...

The Universe Has Your Back
Funny story about this book- Gabrielle Bernstein talks about choosing a sign. This sign will be a guide for you. When you see/feel/hear it, then you'll know you're moving in the right direction. So, while I am reading the book in bed I decide that my sign will be the noise of a train in the distance. NO JOKE- about 10 seconds later, I heard a choooo choooo in the distance. Is that the universe giving me a sign? I think so.

Mastering Your Mean Girl
Melissa Ambrosini is amazing and in this book she gives you the tools and guidance you need in order to silence the internal critic in your mind which she calls your Mean Girl. I also love her podcast. I've learned soooo much from her.

Open Wide
Another one of Melissa's books where she dives deep into relationships in this majorly honest and vulnerable book. She discusses love, sex, communication, friendships, periods and how loving yourself first is the key to having a successful relationship.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
Wow. This book, as the title suggests, will change your life. You'll learn how to detach yourself from material objects and take a real look at the "stuff" you have brought into your home.

Discover your cycle, hormones, fertility, libido and how your amazing body actually works. Fascinating book that all women should read.

Radical Acceptance
This powerful book teaches you how to accept yourself just as you are in this very moment and to L.O.V.E. yourself deeply and radically.

Start With Why
More of a business book but I think you can apply Simon Sinek's approach to anything in life. Check out his ted talk which is basically the synopsis of the book. Really thought provoking if you need an extra boost of business inspiration

The China Study
This is the book that inspired me to be vegan. Once I read it, I knew there was no way I could continue to eat animal products. A ton of information but it's easy to digest.

The 48 Laws of Power
Loved this book as it kind of teaches you how to be an evil genius and how to beware of others who may be trying to take advantage or play you.

The Power of Now
Learn how to live in the current moment and leave the ego behind. It's been awhile since I read this book but I remember how greatly it impacted me. I need to read it again as I am sure I'll get so much more out of it now.

Goop Clean Beauty
All things natural beauty and a deep dive into how the chemicals and preservatives in products impacts the body.

It's All Good
When I wanted to get better at cooking, I committed to making a different recipe from this book every week. The recipes contain simple ingredients, they're easy to make and very delicious. Also, the imagery is beautiful and so, so inspiring. Let's be real, we all need a little more Gwyneth in our lives.

Eating Animals
This memoir is completely different than the other books as it's the journey of the author, Jonathan Safran Foyer, becoming a vegetarian and asking the question, "Why do we eat some animals and not others?"

Also, love my kindle. It's the greatest minimalism tool. I always wear these glasses while reading as the block the blue light and protect my eyes.
